Gringotts (Per Incanto- Miss Bluebell by Savabeel) defeated a star studded field in the 1500m WFA Group 1 George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday, giving Per Incanto his 9th individual Group 1 winner and cementing the 5YO's favoritism for the Group 1 Doncaster Handicap in a fortnight.
Despite being the only non Group 1 winner in the 11 horse field, Gringotts was a well supported commodity on the back of a season where he'd already taken his stake earnings to over $3 million and his record to an outstanding 9 wins and 8 minor placings from just 19 starts.
Per Incanto's 9th individual winner at racings elite level gives the stallion the rare achievement of striking at over 27% Group 1 winners to stakes winners.
Gringotts, who was bred by Totara Park Stud in Whangarei, is Per Incanto's 2nd new Group 1 winner in the last month after Jimmysstar won the Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield.
There are five Per Incanto yearlings catalogued for sale at the Inglis Sydney Easter Sale on 6&7 April.
