Another Nadeem First Crop NZ 2YO Winner

Most appropriately the Fusion and Brown Thoroughbreds bred and owned two-year-old filly Karavali (Nadeem-Just Diamonds by No Excuse Needed) was victorious in the Per Incanto LA Stud Two-year-Old Maiden at the Masterton Racing Club’s meeting at Tauherenikau on Saturday.

Arguably a little unlucky on debut at the same course on Waitangi Day, Karavali was ridden superbly by apprentice Miranda Dravitzki, producing the Roydon Bergerson trained filly late to take the 1000m contest.

And across the Tasman on Saturday, only reigning Stradbroke favourite Malaguerra came between first-up success for quality sprinter Target In Sight (Nadeem-Xaaranthe by Xaar) in the 1200m Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes at Rosehill.

Karavali’s win follows the impressive debut win of Heisenberg (Nadeem-Nikki’s Bride by O’Reilly) at Otaki a fortnight ago. Nadeemnow has two individual winners from three to race from his first crop N.Z two-year-olds and an impressive winners to runners % in N.Z. of 73.

Further north on Saturday at Tauranga, Per Incanto filly Nahema (Per Incanto-Our Prized Rose by Prized) showed the kind of form that bought about a nose defeat in the Group 2 Matamata Breeders Stakes last season with an authorative win in the 1300m set weight three-year-old event. CLICK HERE to view the impressive win.
