The addition of blinkers and a change in ridding tactics seemed to work the oracle for the Nadeem mare Savoureux (Nadeem-Ripe Plum by Spectrum), with the Kris Lees trained four-year-old coming from last to win over 1250m in Canterbury in Sydney on Saturday.
Savoureux’s win, her fifth in 13 career starts, followed Ammirata’s victory in the Group 3 Gosford Belle of the Turf Stakes on Friday afternoon, a result which gave her sire his 13thindividual stakes winner.
And to round things off nicely, the three-year-old filly Penhale Pride (Nadeem-Penhale by Pentire) won in Queensland over 1000m on Saturday, breaking her maiden at just her second career start.
Ammirata is the sixth fairer sex member of the Nadeem black-type winning club, with seven colts and geldings making up the balance.
Nadeem, whose oldest New Zealand conceived crop are just two, has 12 yearlings down to sell in the Select and Festival sessions of the upcoming Karaka Yearling Sale, including an impressive line-up of colts in the LA Select draft.
