He may have been the new kid on the block, but a field packed full of Europe’s best sprinters held no fear for Dubawi’s progressive son Space Blues (Dubawi –Miss Lucifer by Noverre) who showed an electric turn of foot over the closing stages to win the Group 1, 1300m Prix Maurice De Gheest at Deauville on Sunday.
Space Blues Is the 43rd Group 1 winner for Dubawi, whose Group 1 winners this season include Lord North and Ghaiyyath, rated the leading horse in the world in last month’s Longines Rankings. For good measure he’s also the sire of the top rated two-year-old in Europe, Master of the Seas.
Led by the sensational Night of Thunder, who has made the best start at stud since the Pattern began, 2020 has also been a breakthrough year for Dubawi as a sire of sires.
Dual Group 2 winner and Ascot track record breaker Time Test (Dubawi-Passage of Time by Dansili), the only son of Dubawi at stud in NZ, arrives back at Little Avondale this Saturday for his third Southern Hemisphere season. Time Test will serve a maximum book of 130 mares, don’t hesitate if you want to secure one of the final spots left at the special 2020 service fee of $6,000 plus GST.
