Tenth Career Win for Dolcetto

Australia has been supplying all the headlines for Per Incanto lately, and while last week across the Tasman was another prosperous one for the stallion, it was the turn of his dual stakes winning son Dolcetto (Per Incanto-Our Shiraz by Nediym) to provide the domestic highlight on Saturday.

The Sylvia Kay trained and part owned Dolcetto registered his tenth career win when he landed the feature event at Hawera on Saturday, the 1600m Honouring Past Presidents Handicap. Only further back than 4th, seven times in his 36 start career, Saturdays success took Dolcetto’s stake earnings to $342k for his owners Sylvia Kay, the estate of her late husband Paddy, and Dr H & Dr W Bishop.

Bred in the Wairarapa by David Woodhouse, Next Dimension (Per Incanto-Gee Baby by Exploding Prospect), who ran third at her only other start last year, won on Friday at Ipswich for owners Aquis Farms.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
