The ease of Evaporate’s victory in the So You Think Stakes over 1500 metres on the Hillside track at Sandown augured well for his future quest for an overdue and deserved Group 1 prize.
“That’s probably the best he’s settled in a slowly run race, we just love Evaporate and there’s plenty of options ahead,” said JD Hayes, who trainers the five-year-old with brothers Ben and Will.
The LA graduate is a multiple stakes winner with the son of Per Incanto a four-time placegetter at the highest level in the All-Star Mile, Toorak Handicap, Orr Stakes and Caulfield Guineas.
He was sold for A$330,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale to Lindsay Park Racing with LA remaining in the ownership group. He is out of the Animal Kingdom mare Savanna who produced a brother to Evaporate last season before a return visit to Per Incanto.
