Evaporate on Target for The NZB Kiwi

On a day when the Street Cry bloodline was again to the fore across Australasian black type racing, NZB Kiwi equal favourite Evaporate (Per Incanto – Savanah by Animal Kingdom) produced an outstanding dress rehearsal when he resumed with a strong finishing 3rd placing in the 1400m Group 2 Autumn Stakes at Caulfield, on a card which also saw another stakes placing for the Per Incanto mare Marble Arch.

In-form trainers Ben, Will and JD Hayes will be confidently eyeing up another successful Kiwi raid after their charge Evaporate overcame a chequered home straight run to finish a fine 3rd. The LA bred and part owned gelding will either trial or have another preparatory race in Melbourne before he boards the plane later this month for a tilt at Kiwi racings biggest ever prize at Ellerslie on March 8.

The Goodwood stud bred Marble Arch narrowly missed adding a well-deserved stakes win to her already impressive resume when finishing strongly for 2nd in the 1600m Group 3 JRA Plate. Marble Arch’s record now stands at 8 wins and 5 minor placings from 21 starts for over $600,000 Australian in stake earnings.

All three Group 1 races in Australasia on Saturday went to grandsons of Street Cry with Street Boss siring Another Wil, the winner of the Group 1 CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield, and Shocking’s sons Here To Shock and El Vencedor landing the Group 1 features at Te Rapa.

LA are excited to launch the stallion career of the Group 1 Blue Diamond stakeswinner Little Brose in 2025. The great-grandson of Street Cry looks set to continue the powerful legacy of the sire line through his outstanding stallion son Per Incanto.

Little Brose will stand for a fee of $15,000 plus GST in 2025.

History, tradition, family, good values and lots of fun. Also when we inspect an LA yearling we do so with confidence in the horses’ upbringing, soundness and temperament. It’s a theory that has worked well because with Dominic we’ve bought the likes of Redeem The Dream and the stakeswinner Sir Lovesalot
