Group 1 winner Saint Emilion (Mastercraftsman-Roseario by Pentire) added further stakes success to his record with a typically courageous front running performance to win the Group 3 (2000m) Coca Cola Canterbury Gold Cup at Riccarton on Saturday afternoon.
The ghostly grey, who didn’t make his reserve when part of the LA draft at the 2013 Karaka Premier Sale, was headed with 200m to go in the Riccarton feature but fought back to win and take his stake earnings to nearly 450k for his owner Mike Brown.
