After providing two of the top four lots at the NZB RTR Sale, Per Incanto’s outstanding sprinting son Jimmysstar recorded his third Group 1 win for the calendar year with a comfortable victory in the 1400m Group 1 CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, with another son of Per Incanto, Evaporate, finishing third.
Bred by LA and Chrissie and Pete Algie, who all remain in the ownership, the 6YOs record now stands at 11 wins and 7 minor placings from 23 starts for stake earnings of $6.7 million.
It was something of a red-letter day for LA stallion's at Caulfield with the 5YO Time Test mare Proved taking out the 1200m Group 3 How Now Stakes, with her first stakes success lifting her record to six wins from just seven career starts. The Windsor Park bred mare provided the former LA shuttler Time Test with his 10th individual stakeswinner.
In fact Time Test narrowly missed recording a stakes winning trans-Tasman double when his staying son Notabadspillane, bred by Jim and Les Wallace, finished a courageous 2nd in the 3200m Group 3 New Zealand Cup at Riccarton.
