With 150m to travel in the 1200m Farmers Transport maiden at Hastings on Thursday, Eyegeegee (Time Test-Savamour by Savabeel) looked like running a highly credible second on debut but nobody thought to tell the LA home bred that and displaying a good turn of foot in the wet conditions and a real hunger to compete, the Guy Lowry trained Time Test gelding got up right on it.
Eyegeegee is Time Test’s 16th individual NZ three-year-old winner for the season which has him trailing only Savabeel on the NZ 3YO Premiership for winners.
While the accolades were deservedly with the winner, many observers will have also pasted away the name of Cheval de Foudre , who ran 6th. The Ardsley Stud bred Time Test gelding was also on debut and being a big, rangy, long striding type, he will have taken plenty of benefit from the experience on the turning Hastings track.
