Time Test Lands Ruakaka Feature

Time Test was confidently expected to provide the winner of the 1600m $60,000 ITM/GIB Winter Championship Final at Ruakaka on Saturday however it was the least fancied of his three starters that took the spoils, a result which in hindsight shouldn't have been unexpected as the winner Delorean (Time Test – Yemanya by Per Incanto) has always finished strongly in her races and looked sure to be better suited by the increased distance of the Ruakaka feature.

Bred by LA and purchased from the farm’s 2021 Karaka Book 2 draft by Paul Willets for $32,500, the Time Test filly finished resolutely to defeat this season's New Zealand Oaks placegetter Mischief Managed.

Trained by Kylie Fawcett, DeLorean is her sire's 15th individual three-year-old winner for the season, a figure which has him on top of New Zealand second season sires premiership for individual winners and running 2nd to Savabeel on the three year old winners premiership.

Meanwhile in racing action over the Tasman on Saturday, the much-anticipated debut to of the LA bred Essentric Nature lived up to the expectations as the three-year-old Savabeel colt scored impressively over 1200m on debut.
