Jimmy - A Bona Fide Star

Jimmysstar (Per Incanto-Anniesstar by Zed) defeated a star studded field at weight for age to win the 1400m Gr.1 All Aged Stakes on the final day of the Championships at Randwick on Saturday.

A dazzling winner of the 1100m Group 1 Oakleigh Plate at handicap conditions on 22 February, the 5YO's second Gr.1 victory took his stake earnings to $2.13 million.

Bred by LA and Greytown's Chrissie and Pete Algie, who all retain shares in the 5YO, Jimmysstar's record is 18 starts for nine wins and five minor placings.

Trainer Ciaron Maher has always spoken fondly of the chestnuts personality, as much as his enormous potential. Last start in the Gr.1 TJ Smith Stakes, "Jimmy" missed the start after trying to take a pick of grass in the starting gates, but still recovered to run fourth, in the fastest sectionals of the race.

Jimmysstar is the only horse to win two Gr.1 sprint races in Australia this season.

Saturday's $870k stake earnings from Jimmysstar has Per Incanto leading Savabeel for the prestigious Centaine Award, a title for the most seasonal prize money won by a NZ based sire world wide. The Waikato Stud stallion has held the title since 2015.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the team at Little Avondale for doing another amazing job looking after my mare and bringing her precious foal safely into the world. Always such a relief knowing they will have the best of care with you!
