Karaka Good Lookers Delivering On Racetrack

Our Karaka 2010 Premier draft featured a number of good looking individuals. Arguably our two most popular in pre sale inspections were the Darci Brahma-Sound Lover colt –now racing as Sir Lovesalot and a stakeswinner last weekend at Te Rapa – and an Elusive City - Shahiid colt, who racing as Cosmo King, recorded his second win from his last three starts when successful in Sydney last Thursday.

Trained by Bart Cummings who purchased him at Karaka, Cosmo King was a big colt who was going to need some time - a perfect recipe when matched with the champion trainer. Unraced until late in his three-year-old year, Cosmo King has really found some solid form this preparation and his progress will be interesting.

You can check on the pedigrees of our Karaka yearlings for next month by clicking the icons at the top of the page. Photos should be up about a week to ten days before the sale. We encourage you to ring the office to make an inspection time or come to the parade here at the farm on 13 January.

Brannickers (Darci Brahma-Nikki’s Bride) who won over 1600m in New South Wales last week, is owned in partnership by LA, Don Gordon and Brian Hutchinson, along with clients of her trainer Kris Lees.

Another LA bred winner in New South Wales last week was She’s Trendy(Pins-Racing Waters), who was successful over 1100m on 16 December at Hawkesbury. The four-year-old mare was bought from our Karaka 2010 Premier draft by Bruce Perry Bloodstock.

Our new stallion Nadeem (Redoutes Choice-Candide) left a winner in Victoria yesterday in the form of 1100m maiden winner Nadeem Lass (Nadeem-Danrego by Danzero).

Put Sunday 13 January 2013 at 10.30am in your diary. It’s our annual parade at the farm of the yearlings we will be taking to Karaka. Nadeem, Per Incanto and Towkay will also be shown. Click here for directions.

On behalf of the team at LA we extend our Xmas and New Year best wishes

Aside from Sam greeting me at Karaka every year with “Have I got a horse for you” it’s about breeding successful and sound horses
