Karaka Momentum Set To Transfer To Sydney Classic

A record price for a horse sold by the farm and buyer confidence in resident stallions Per Incanto and Nadeem were the highlights of an overall extremely positive National Yearling Sales which concluded on Sunday with the Festival sale.

The $775,000 paid by Ultra Thoroughbred’s Toby Koenig for LOT 301, the Savabeel colt from Generous Nature, surpassed the $700,000 LA received for the Redoute’s Choice filly Pachanga, a subsequent dual stakesplaced performer, from our 2007 Karaka Premier draft.

Per Incanto, NZ’s leading first season sire of winners and leading overall sire of stakeswinning two-years in 2014/15 maintained his momentum with another strong sale, while Nadeem had an outstanding sale averaging nearly $70,000 for eight yearlings sold, underlining his value at a $6,500 plus GST service fee in 2015.

Buyers of Nadeem yearlings included the likes of Paul Moroney, Michael Stedman and Donna Logan.

Our focus now shifts to the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale which gets underway this Friday in Sydney. Sledmere Stud who did such a grand job with our two Magic Million yearlings, present four yearlings on our behalf, including three by Per Incanto.

Whilst on the subject of Per Incanto and the Inglis Classic Sale, the LA bred Terms of Reference (Per Incanto-Myladys by Kingfisher Mill), whom we sold in our inaugural Classic offering in 2014, registered his third win in Singapore on Sunday.
