Kay's Awake (Towkay-Wake up Suzie), who was retired last week, really epitomized the kind of horse her sire has become re known for producing, namely speed (placed in a Telegraph) class (four times group one placed) and durability (winning two -year-old races in September and picking up over $100,000 in prizemoney in her final season of racing as a five-year-old). 

Bred by Te Parae and sold through LA's 2007 Karaka Premier draft to Robert Roulston Bloodstock, Larry's Never Late (Pentire-Labeel) looked every inch a VRC Derby contender with his fast finishing 6^th to Lord Tavistock in the three-year -old 1400m race at Flemington on 6 September. Labeel, the 1998 Caulfield Cup runner-up, who is now owned outright by LA, has a Pins yearling filly and is in foal to O'Reilly.

Electronic Million (Towkay-Gaysutina), a dual Flemington winner in his last campaign, resumed from a spell with a third in a 1400m Open Handicap at Sandown earlier in the month and Towcutter (Towkay-Eva's Belle) made it two wins from just four starts, scoring over 1000m in Victoria last week. 

Local winners for Towkay last week were Secret Mission (Towkay-Secret Step) at Taupo over 1100m and Yelracm (Towkay-Our Secret) with a most impressive five and a half length success at Awapuni on Saturday. 

Stoneybridge Stakes Day at Hastings this Saturday sees LA sponsoring the Towkay Premier over 1300m for fillies and mares and how fitting if group one winner Special Mission (Towkay-Te Akau Theme) can take the spoils. 

Sunday 28^th of September is our annual open day here at the farm, starting at 1pm sharp. We'll show some of Zed's foals together with dad and our other resident stallion Towkay. Following the parade, there will be a walk through the paddocks where you'll get an opportunity to view Karaka Premier and Sydney Easter bound yearlings by the likes of Zabeel, Stravinsky, Pins, Fastnet Rock, Savabeel and Stratum.
