Xanadu (Elusive City-Forest Dream) showed with her fast finishing third in Saturday’s Listed Foxbridge Plate that she will be a force for New Zealand’s best WFA gallopers at the upcoming Hawkes Bay Spring Carnival.
Having her first start since running third in the Group One New Zealand Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha back in April, the LA bred mare made very good ground late in the Te Rapa feature and will undoubtedly derive significant benefit for her immediate target the Group One Makfi Challenge Stakes in a fortnight.
The recent run of form by the progeny of Nadeem continues unabated. Last Friday his two runners in Australia for the day ran first and second, then the following day Total Attraction continued her spring carnival preparation in Melbourne with a third placing on an unsuitable Heavy track at Caulfield. Total Attraction, one of three stakesplaced fillies for Nadeem in Australia last season is from a Mr Prospector line mare.
Mycup Runneth Over who won in Australia last Friday is a half sister to the LA broodmare Generous Nature, whose first foal is the promising Sir Ferrari, a dual winner at three last season. The second foal of Generous Nature is an as yet unraced General Nediym filly named La Fluorescent who was sold from our draft at last years Karaka Premier Sale to Steve Brem.
