LA in Thick of Matamata Action

LA were in the thick end of the action in a number of the feature races on Matamata’s Breeders Stakes Day on Saturday.

In the days feature, the Group 2 1200m J Swap Contractors Matamata Breeders Stakes, Beldarra (Hinchinbrook-Inside Line by Sebring) finished a game third, only a length from the winner. The China Horse Club bred filly was a $115,000 purchase by Cambridge Stud from LA’s 2020 Karaka Book 1 draft. Beldarra joins stakes winner and Karaka Million place getter Avonallo as graduates of LA’s 2020 Karaka draft.

The thoroughly genuine Pep Torque (Nadeem-Cosmic Flight by Star Way) became Nadeem’s 30th stakes performer with his second placing in the Listed 2000m Matamata Veterinary Kaimai Stakes.

After attracting a high-class field of mares including Group 1 winner Concert Hall, black-type status looks inevitable for another of the days features the 1400m Lisa Chittick Plate, and the Per Incanto mare La Mia Stella (Per Incanto-O’Stellar by O’Reilly) enhanced her profile with a brave third behind the highly impressive winner Covetina Bay. La Mia Stella was bred by the late Don Gordon.

Another great job by LA Stud, we have complete confidence in you guys
