Per Incanto 3YO Remains Unbeaten with Eagle Farm Success

Granted that he may still have some way to go to match the deeds of four other members of LA’s 2019 Karaka Book 1 draft but Garoppolo (Per Incanto-Savamour by Savabeel) looked on the way to much better company when he came from second last to win over 1000m at Eagle Farm on Thursday and remain unbeaten in two starts.

Trained by ex-Kiwi Maryann Brosnan at the Gold Coast, the three-year-old gelding justified heavy tote support to win impressively despite running greenly in the home straight.

Garoppolo was a $70,000 purchase by Justin Wong under his banner Red Hare Bloodstock from LA’s 2019 Karaka Book 1 draft. Other members of the same draft are Group 1 winning Per Incanto filly Bonham, Group 3 winner Whimsical, Group 1 2000 Guineas runner-up (beaten a nose by Aegon) Bourbonaire and Group 3 runner-up Victorem.

Garoppolo year older full sister is this season’s Randwick winner Belluci Babe who readied herself for a return from a spell with a trial win in Sydney earlier this week. Savamour has a Time Test yearling colt, a Per Incanto filly at foot and is in foal/back in foal to Per Incanto Per incanto’s only lot at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale which gets underway this Sunday is a stunning colt from the More Than Ready mare Anaween. Regarded as the best yearling by his sire offered for sale by LA this season, the colt, who sells as LOT 479, is offered on LA’s behalf by Sledmere Stud.
