LA Sires to the Fore at Riccarton

Per Incanto and Time Test were in the thick of the action at Riccarton on Saturday.

Progressive mare Retail Therapy (Per Incanto – Here’shoping by Darci Brahma) displayed adaptability when she sat a lot closer to the pace than her usual racing pattern but still came away from her rating 65 opponents over 1600m. She holds a nomination for the Group 3 TAB, formerly the Couplands, Mile.

Jon Ol Rocco (Time Test – Famous Attraction by Doomsday) recorded his fifth success from 16 starts when successful in the $50,000 1800m New Zealand Cup Trial. The 5YO son of Time Test continues a good run for his breeder Jamieson Park who also bred last week's Group 1 Tarzino Trophy winner Grail Seeker.

Earlier on the Riccarton programe, the 4YO mare Tonia's Dragon (Time Test – Camillino by Per Incanto) pictured, was strong through the line to land the rating 65 1400m contest. Bred by LA, Tonia's Dragon was a $100,000 purchase by Alan Fu’s Pegasus Bloodstock from the LA draft at the 2022 NZB Karaka Book 2 Sale.

Per Incanto is represented by 16 lots and Time Test by 4 at the NZB Ready to Run Sale on the 20th and 21st of November.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
