Little Brose: Pedigree Update

About to embark on his inaugural season, LA’s new stallion Little Brose has had some timely updates to his female pedigree, with the promise of considerably more to come.

Leading trainer Philip Stokes has earmarked a stakes assignment as the next start for his promising 2-year-old Matahga. 2nd on debut in Adelaide, the Tivaci colt backed up to score impressively last week in South Australia.

A $80,000 purchase from the 2024 NZB Karaka Book 1 Sale, Matahga is the 1st foal of an unraced Reliable Man half-sister to Little Brose.

You wouldn't normally expect a Tivaci colt from a Reliable Man mare to make a 2YO, which further emphasises the precocious speed in the dam line of Little Brose.

Serinda, a 2YO Brutal filly from the Australian Group 1 winner Absolut Glam made a promising debut in Victoria recently running home strongly for 3rd over 1100m. The Danny O'Brien trained filly was a $250,000 purchase from the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale.

Absolut Glam features a little further back in Little Brose’s female pedigree. The daughter of Snowland looks capable of breeding on as one of her daughters has already left last season's leading South African 3-year-old filly Saartjie.
