More Black Type Results from LA's Karaka Drafts

LA’s incredible black type strike rate with the progeny of Savabeel was again in evidence at Pukekohe on Sunday when the 3YO Savabeel gelding Cruz Missile took out the Listed Gingernuts Salver in a fine dress rehearsal for upcoming feature staying races such as the New Zealand Derby.

Cruz Missile, who was bred by Jim Barlow, was $160,000 purchase by Bruce Perry Bloodstock from LA’s 2021 Karaka book 1 draft.

Dual Australian stakes winner Mightybeel (Savabeel), another Jim Barlow bred, and Group 3 winner Whimsical (Savabeel)were both bought from LA’s 2019 Karaka Book 1 draft.

In 2020, Go Racing paid $90,000 for another Jim Barlow bred Savabeel from LA’s Book 1 draft. Racing as Barrow Boy, the gelding placed in the Group 3 Wellington Stakes before being sold to Hong Kong.

LA are delighted to once again offer on Jim's behalf two cracking Savabeel colts in its 2023 Karaka Book 1 draft. Lot 371 is from the family of black type winners Sharvasti, Shastri and the very good Hong Kong galloper Tourbillion Diamond while Lot 568 is a full brother to Mightybeel.

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all the team at Little Avondale for doing another amazing job looking after my mare and bringing her precious foal safely into the world. Always such a relief knowing they will have the best of care with you!
