More Flemington Black Type for Per Incanto

Classy Per Incanto sprinter Justacanta (Per Incanto-Just Casual by Casual Lies) continued his impressive black type form across the Melbourne Spring Carnival with another strong performance on the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington on Saturday.

Backing up after a win in the 1200m Group 2 Linlithgow stakes on Derby Day, the LA bred gelding, as is customary, finished strongly to run 3rd in the 1400m Group 3 Chatham Stakes.

Justacanta’s last four starts, all in Melbourne, have produced the afore mentioned group 2 win, two group 3 placings and a listed success.

Meanwhile on the domestic front, Per Incanto had another stakes performer courtesy of 4YO mare Madam Hass who ran 3rd in the 1000m Listed Pegasus Stakes at Riccarton on Saturday.

Per Incanto's focus shifts to Hong Kong on Sunday night where with 7 runners carded he looks a good chance to add to his substantial lead in the Hong Kong winner's premiership.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
