LA’s stallions enjoyed black type performances across Australasia on Saturday with Time Test siring two new stakes performers, including his second in Australia in the last month, and Per Incanto registering his 28th individual stakes winner.
Few domestic trainers have made as bigger strides in the last few years as Janelle Miller and on Saturday at Hastings the Taranaki horsewoman produced the LA bred Pure Incanto (Per Incanto-Rites of Spring by Stravinsky) to win the Listed 1200m Power Turf Sprint. Raced by the stable on lease from LA, the same basis as stakes winning mare Tinkalicious a couple of years ago, Pure Incanto hasn't been the easiest horse to train so it was extremely satisfying for connections to see patience and perseverance pay off as the six-year-old mare broke through for a deserved debut stakes win, her sire's 28th individual stakes winner.
Per Incanto registered a further new stakes performer with the Lisa Latta trained Nod of the Head finishing third behind Pure Incanto in the Listed Hastings event.
On the back of his first Australian stakes performer The Years, second in the Group 3 Canberra Black Opal Stakes, just four weeks ago, Time Test has produced the LA bred three-year-old filly Running on Time (Time Test-Luscious Legs by Pins) to finish second in the Listed 1800m Port Adelaide Guineas at Morphettville on Saturday. Earlier in the day, at Riccarton, another LA bred Time Test filly Madame Giselle finished strongly for third in the 1600m Group 3 NZB Airfreight Stakes.
Also on Saturday, at the Te Rapa meeting, the Jim Barlow bred and raced three year old Time Test gelding Mr Roshan gave weight and a beating to the older horses when successful over 1400m.
Running on Times performance will have heightened interest in two close relatives LA currently have for sale on NZB sales platforms.
Lot 16 in the NZB National Online Yearling Sale is a Super Seth colt from the Per Incanto mare Camillino, a daughter of the Centaine mare Cent From Heaven who also happens to be the dam of Luscious Legs, the mother of Running on Time.
