My Quilter Continues Dams Remarkable Record

My Quliter (Pins-Sound Lover by Sound Reason), whose win at Saturday’s  feature Australian meeting  at the Sunshine Coast was his 13th career success, epitomises all the qualities that have made his dam Sound Lover such a successful broodmare.

The LA bred eight-year-old gelding has displayed plenty of durability and class in 66 starts across six seasons of competition for stake earnings bordering on AUS $400,000 including 16 minor placings to go with his afore mentioned wins.

Bought from LA’s 2009 Premier Sale by the judicious John Foote, My Quilter’s half-brothers include the stakeswinning Zabeel geldings Philosophe and Men at Work, the stakeswinning Sir Lovesalot and this seasons leading Singapore 3YO Magnum (Per Incanto).

Sound Lover who was laid to rest at LA last year in her 24th year has fashioned the quite remarkable record of having had 11 individual winners from 11 to race, who between them have won in excess of 57 races and total stakes approaching NZ$ 4.5 million.

LA has retained Sound Lover’s three daughters, Rites of Spring, Savamour and Bellabaci. In good time, these mares look set to continue their mothers’ legacy
