Nadeem Galloper Claims Cup

Trainer Kris Lee’s decision to scratch Slivovitz (Nadeem-Ripe Plum) from his Randwick engagement on Saturday due to the heavy track and target the Taree Cup the following day on better footing proved well founded. The lightly raced Nadeem 6YO duly obliged with a winning performance in the AUS $61,500 2000m feature.

Consistent 5YO mare Permesso (No Excuse Needed-Cymbidium by Centaine) recorded consecutive wins with her success over 2200m at Saturday’s feature domestic meeting at Ellerslie. The LA and Rob Tunnicliffe bred galloper has collected a cheque in 2/3rd's of her 23 start career which includes four wins.

Once again LA has a strong hand in the first Group 1 event of the new domestic season, the Makfi Stakes at Hastings this weekend. Last year’s winner Survived (Zed-Liberal by Generous) goes into the event fresh-up as he did in 2013 while 2012 runner-up the LA bred Xanadu (Elusive City-Forest Dream by Forest Glow) will have plenty of support on the back of her encouraging first-up run in the Lisa Chittick Foxbridge Plate.

Excellence, under-pinned by a good public profile that is down to earth and friendly
