Per Incanto: Sorprendente !

The well named Hocus Pocus (Per Incanto-Little Hazel by Black Minnaloushe) gave our freshman stallion Per Incanto (Street Cry-Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge) a dream start to his siring career when she won the first 2YO race in the country for the season, the Veandercross Juvenile Plate at Wanganui on Saturday. (Per Incanto translates into It’s Magic)

Trained to the minute by Gerald Innes and ridden expertly by Daryl Bradley, Hocus Pocus displayed all the attributes necessary for a successful two-year-old; rounding the home turn like Lewis Hamilton before sprinting quickly to hit the front at the 200m, she fought back after being headed momentarily at the 100m, to win going away on the line.

Fittingly the filly was bred by LA and Bruce Perry, who helped Sam select the songallopingsept2014.jpg

of Street Cry for stallion duties, and is trained locally by part owner Gerald Innes for Ron Fokerd and Ian Burgess.

From sourcing a stallion to having their progeny hit the racetrack, it is a long journey. There is still a long way to go but anything worth doing starts with small steps or little acorns. Per Incanto has made the start every stud dreams of. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way and we know there is so much more to come.

Per Incanto (Street Cry-Pappa Reale by Indian Ridge) stands this season for $5,000 plus GST.

Wee Biskit (Zed-Nancy Hope by Lord Ballina) capped a wonderful day for the farm when she took out the Listed Schweppes Great Northern Hurdle.

Confidence in knowing that buying an LA product it has being raised properly and with their record of success in black-type racing you have a better than even chance of the horse competing at the pinnacle of Australasian racing
