4YO mare Sharnee Rose (Nadeem-Farasha) added more black-type to her record with a second placing in Listed Bright Shadow Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm in Brisbane on Saturday. She placed third in last season’s Gr.1 1000 Guineas at Caulfield and fourth in the Gr.1 SAJC Schweppes Oaks.
Zed’s (Zabeel-Emerald Dream by Danehill) emergence has been one of the more heralded stories of the season and his rise continues unabated with the latest highlight occurring at the local meeting at Tauherenikau on Queens Birthday Monday where his four runners resulted in two winners and two second place getters.
3YO filly Anniestar (Zed-Star Guest by Pentire) won the opening event over 1000m and 4YO mare Atozed (Zed-Our Secret by Hey Baba Riba) gave her sire a race to race double when taking the next event also over 1000m.
Tne into this Saturday’s Gr.1 Queensland Derby where Survived (Zed-Liberal) will start favourite and Zed will have two other runners in single figure quotes in Usainity (Zed – Joy Tripper) and Ambitious Champion (Zed-Simply Sally).
