Per Incanto 2YO Impresses Jockey in Melbourne Win

With two new Australian stakes winners in 2018, Per Incanto’s profile across the Tasman has gone to a new level this year and that momentum continued at Sandown on Wednesday when his 2YO filly Trilli (Per Incanto-Tinkermia by Johar) won impressively at her second start, scorching over the 1000m in 56.2.

Winning jockey Jake Noonan expects the LA bred filly to keep improving with racing and maturity.

I’ve really liked her from day one. I think she’ll measure up and I think she’ll go through her grades,” said Noonan.

A $67,500 purchase from the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale by Jason Warren and Cameron Cooke Bloodstock, Trilli, who was third on debut at Sale a fortnight ago, will likely have one more run as a 2YO before spelling with a view to some of the black-type features over the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
