Sophia Magia (Per Incanto-Heloise by Towkay) added to a growing list of late season two-year-old winners for her sire when she scored a strong win on debut over 1000m at Trentham on Saturday.
While the Roydon Bergerson trained filly had shown a good deal of promise at the jumpouts on good tracks, there was some doubt she would handle the challenging Trentham track conditions. However the Lowell Goddard bred and owned filly showed natural ability to sit wide but still draw away over the final stages for a comprehensive win.
Fellow juvenile Morethanlucky (Per Incanto-Viking Angel by Viking Ruler) carried too much class for his older rivals when winning over 1100m at New Plymouth on Thursday. The Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman trained gelding, a purchase from the 2015 Ready to Run Sale, was backing up from a third placing on debut at Awapuni a fortnight earlier.
