Per Incanto's Latest Gr.1 Winner Caps Memorable Day for LA Stallions

Shadows Cast’s (Per Incanto-Ages Past by Slavic)deserved Group 1 success in the Thorndon Mile at Trentham, Per Incanto’s second elite level winner in 2019, capped an extraordinary Saturday of domestic racing for LA with Nadeem siring two winners on the prestigious Wellington Cup day card and the winner of the Listed Gore Guineas.

Expertly prepared by Mark Oulaghan and raced by Wellingtonian Ron Cunningham, dual Group 2 winner Shadow’s Cast had to defy top-weight and the widest barrier position of 16 to take NZ’s leading mile handicap.

Per Incanto, who sits third on the NZ general sire premiership, has had 6 stakes wins including the Group 1 Railway Handicap by Santa Monica (Per Incanto-Monarch by Volksraad) and ten stakes placed performances in the last 90 days.

Air Max (Nadeem-Steel Stilettos by Hussonet) gave Nadeem his 16th individual stakes winner and third stakes performing three-year-old this season when he won the (1350m) Listed Gore Guineas. The LA bred Tinkerlicious (Nadeem-Tinkermia by Johar) one of Nadeem’s two Trentham winners could potentially add to her sires impressive black-type statistics when she makes her stakes race debut in the Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes on 6 February.
