Per Incanto Quickly Out of the Blocks in HK

Normal transmission resumed for Per Incanto as the new Hong Kong season commenced this week.

Last season’s champion Hong Kong sire by winners and wins, the son of Street Cry supplied two winners and a third-place getter at Happy Valley on Wednesday night NZ time.

The Te Parae bred Wood On Fire (Per Incanto-Lutine Belle by O’Reilly) recorded his fourth Hong Kong success when he came from well off the pace to win over 1200m while later on the programme the LA bred Resolute (Per Incanto-Trigon Lass by Centaine), who closed off last season with a win, scored first up over 1000m.

The first day of the new Hong Kong season which was held last Saturday saw Star Performance win. He is a half brother to Anniesstar the dam of Charm Star who ran 2nd in the NZ and Queensland Oaks. Another brave performance that day came from Per Incanto’s highest rated horse in the former British colony. The Waikato Stud bred Duke Wai (Per Incanto-Swan Lake by Green Perfume), who had signed off the previous season with a close 4th at Group 3 level, was only run down in the shadows of the post in the feature class 1 event.

Per Incanto, who is fully booked for the 2021 season, has 16 entries for the upcoming NZB Ready to Run Sale.
