The combination of a carded weight of 61kgs and a wide barrier didn't stop the Ben Currie trained 4YO sprinter Amanaat (Per Incanto-Mazij by General Nediym) from recording five wins in succession and consecutive Saturday city wins with a typically bulldog like performance to win over 1200m at Doomben.
Five winners over the last seven days, which includes the maiden three length win by Herb Renall and Des Fitzgerald's 3YO Castani (Per Incanto-Canny Deal by Canny Lad), the four length win by the 4YO mare Belle Fascino (Per Incanto-Playing For Keeps by Keeper) and the Penny and Tony Ebbett trained mare Pincanto (Per Incanto- Snippins by Pins) in the maiden 1200m at Awapuni, have Per Incanto's tally at 16 individual successes for the month to date. This stretch has seen him achieve a new stakeswinner in Shadows Cast (Group 2 Couplands Mile) and a new stakes performer in Don Carlo (2nd Listed Pegasus Handicap).
Per Incanto is now up to 5th position in the NZ Sires premiership with stake earnings of nearly $450,000.
