Per Incanto continued his strong start to the NZB National Yearling Sale Series at Karaka on Monday, achieving a record price for one of his progeny sold at auction in NZ and ending session 2 in seventh position on the sires averages.
Buoyed by the likes of Classic Mile place-getter Morethanlucky (Per Incanto-Viking Angel by Viking Ruler) and stakes performer Time To Celebrate (Per Incanto-Silver Cent by Centaine), the Hong Kong Jockey Club went to $370,000 to secure the Per Incanto colt from former top racemare Fleur de Lune presented by the Westend Partnership.
Leading price on a relatively quiet day numbers wise for LA yesterday was the $210,000 sale of the Per Incanto – Eloa colt to Mr S Chen of Singapore while Sydney’s Mark Newnham, trainer of Per Incanto’s latest stakeswinner Lanciato, purchased the Savabeel-Dreamer colt presented on behalf of Christopher and Susanna Grace.
