The wins over the weekend of the LA bred Sir Lovesalot (Darci Brahma-Sound Lover) and Hammer Down (O’Reilly-Our Prized Rose) reinforced the quality of mares served by Per Incanto last spring. The dams of both horses are in foal to LA’s exciting son of Street Cry.
Per Incanto’s , whose first foals are due in just on two months, served an extraordinary inaugural book for mares for a stallion standing at just $4,000 plus GST. Amongst the mares that went to his court last year were three group one performers, seven stakeswinners, ten dams of stakeswinners and 64 either full or half sisters to stakeswinners.
One of those stakeswinner served by Per Incanto was LA’s Rapid Kay (Towkay-Racing Waters), whose daughter Clos De Tart by Darci Brahma ran a close second at the Te Awamutu trials last week. Rapid Kay’s second foal is the four-year-old Skittle - the winner of four races this season.
Sir Lovesalot, who was bought from our 2010 Karaka Premier draft by Dominic Li, had to be very tough to win on Saturday. After being headed by almost two lengths after straightening for home, the three-year-old colt fought back to win, recording his second victory at just his sixth career start.
Hammer Down’s win in a $150,000 event in Singapore carried extra significance as we share in his ownership.
Our new stallion the two-year-old group one winning son of Redoute’s Choice in Nadeem had another winner in Repudiate, last Thursday at Geelong. Nadeem arrives here Thursday 24th May. Keep an eye on the website for details of our upcoming open day where we will parade the Champion Australian Two-Year-Old, along with Towkay and Per Incanto.
