Champion Son Of Redoutes Choice To LA For 2012

LA is delighted to announce they will stand Champion Australian Two-Year-Old and promising young stallion Nadeem for the forthcoming breeding season.

Shadwell Stud, encouraged by the reception their former racehorse Per Incanto received in his first stud season covering 143 mares at LA, have made the decision to relocate the stallion from Darley in New South Wales to ensure he continues to get every opportunity to build on the outstanding start he has made at stud.

Nadeem, the son of Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice and dual group one winner It’s Candide won the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate at his second start in the spring of his two-year-old year, before putting up a stunning performance to beat Miss Finland and subsequent Caulfield Guineas winner Wonderful World in Victoria’s juvenile showpiece, the Group One Blue Diamond Stakes.

An ultimately career ending injury suffered shortly after his Blue Diamond victory restricted the valuable colt to just two further career starts.

With his oldest progeny just three, Nadeem has already left four individual stakes winners from his first crop, three of those in Melbourne and also three others that are stakes placed. This includes Sharnee Rose who had previously run third in the Group 1 One Thousand Guineas and ran home strong for fourth in last weekend’s Group One Australasian Oaks.

In Hong Kong he has a the very promising Sterling City and in South Africa he has Tajmeel who won her last two starts by a combined total of eleven lengths and fronts up in Saturdays Group 2 KRA Fillies Guineas .

Nadeem has a number of promising types with impressive form lines - already 30 individual 3YO winners. On Wednesday this week Stakes placed Aftershock posted a strong win for CD trainer Lisa Latta

Bruce Perry and Little Avondale’s Sam Williams made a serious push to secure Nadeem as a yearling but were unable to match his A$700,000 purchase at the Sydney Easter Sales.

“Although he was a precocious two-year-old, everything about his profile, his female line and the type of progeny he’s leaving, suggest that exciting things lie ahead. I believe Nadeem’s progeny will make lovely middle distance types something that New Zealand is well renowned for." says Williams

With only a single duplication of Northern Dancer, Nadeem offers breeders any number of pedigree options. The owners of O’Reilly and Towkay mares in particular are likely to be excited about duplicating the very successful Redoute’s Choice/Last Tycoon cross. 28 runners for 24 winners and 8 stakes winners. People with Sound Reason in their mares are going to love chasing the double ups especially if there is some Oncidium, Grosvenor or Centaine blood to go with it.
