A Savabeel colt from G1 winner Sharvasti, bred and owned by LA and Barlow Thoroughbreds, received a timely pedigree update ahead of his already sought after appearance at the NZB Ready To Run Sale on 16 & 17 November, with the win of his close relation Speranta in Victoria on Monday.
Catalogued as LOT 477, the colt, who is under the expert guidance of the Sales perennial top vendor Lyndhurst Farm, warmed up with a very restrained breeze-up at Te Rapa last week.
Speranta (Pins-Kumari by Zabeel) whose latest win is her second in a brief career hails from a half sister to the dam of LOT 477. The Darren Weir trained 4YO mare, who sold from our 2014 Inglis Sydney Easter Sale draft to Emirates Park, was bred by LA, Barlow Thoroughbreds and JML Bloodstock.
In Hong Kong on Saturday, the exciting 4YO Baba Mama (Per Incanto-Irish Magic by O’Reilly) lost few admirers in his quest to record four consecutive wins with a fast finishing second over 1600m. Held-up momentarily turning for home, just as eventual winner and former N.Z G1 victor Simply Invincible (raced here as Gaultier) burst to the lead, the Ardsley bred finished powerfully once into the clear.
Baba Mama was purchased from the 2014 NZB Ready To Run Sale. 14 Per Incanto 2YO's are set to sell from this year’s Sale, including three owned either outright or in partnership by LA.
4YO Cantare (Per Incanto-Nannerl by Le Bec Fin) atoned for a luck less run on the last day of the Hastings Carnival behind Francaletta to score a strong win over 1600m at Te Rapa on Labour Day Monday.
