Sugar Schnapps opened her Australian record in style at Kilmore where the daughter of Per Incanto was untroubled to score over 1200 metres under apprentice Nadia Daniels.
Trained for LA and partners by Ben, Will and JD Hayes, the lightly raced homebred 5YO doubled her winning tally after breaking her maiden from the Hastings stable of Guy Lowry and Leah Zydenbos.
“It was the ideal set-up, the boys found the right race for her,” stable representative Lindsey Rushby said. “It was really nice to get one for the owners and she should go through her grades now.”
Sugar Schnapps’ dam is the late Pins mare Shandream, who won on eight occasions including victory in the Listed Counties Bowl and was a multiple stakes placegetter.
