Tauherenikau Double to Per Incanto

Fresh from a New Years Day treble, Per Incanto bookended the 6 race Tauherenikau card on Saturday with wins to Ace Royale and Savanah Belle.

Savanah Belle’s win continues a good trot for her breeders and owners John and Anne Gilbert, who raced the high class mare Xanadu under the Block Partnership. The Wellington couple race the Nadeem mare Codecracker won at Ellerslie in September and Xanadu’s first foal Ocean Belle, whom they bred and race with the same ownership group as the dual Group 1 winning mare along with Robert Stewart, looked smart winning twice early in the season including a defeat of the stakes winner Vamos Bebe.
