Time Test No Pushover in Stylish Debut

Where there is smoke there’s fire is an old racing adage and it once again rang true at Kembla Grange in New South Wales on Saturday for the debut of the Time Test 3YO Pushy (Time Test – Angel Child by Annaba)

Backed in late to start a solid second favourite, the Time Test gelding justified that support with an authoritative win over 1200m, defeating the Snitzel filly Hanau, trained by James Cummings for Darley. There was a lot to like about the way Pushy let down when produced late in the race and adding further merit to the performance was the sub 1.10 time for the 1200m.

Bred by Blenheim’s Stephanie Hole, Pushy was a $60,000 purchase by Mick Wallace from the 2022 Karaka Book 1 draft of Wentwood Grange. Named after the Australian slang for a jandal or thong, Pushy is trained by Michael Freedman for an ownership group which includes Wairarapa breeder David Wallace.
