On a quiet weekend for runners for the stud, one of the standout performances came from the debutant Braveman’s Game (Time Test-Sampi by Per Incanto).
Despite no recent trial or jumpouts, the Michael Hickmott trained Time Test four-year-old gelding started a warm favourite for the maiden 1200m at Morpethville in Adelaide on Saturday. Hitting the front turning for home, Braveman’s Game was run down in the shadows of the winning post, finishing a courageous second.
Bred by LA’s stallion manager Helen Phinney, Braveman’s Game was initially trained by Lisa Latta. After an impressive jumpout as a two-year-old, the Time Test gelding was sold to clients of his current Australian trainer, in a deal brokered by Wairarapa bloodstock agent Andrew Campbell.
A full brother to Gentleman’s Game sold for $35,000 at last year’s National Weanling Sale and the Per Incanto mare is back in foal to Time Test.
