The winning streak for Time Test continued at Riccarton on Friday with Maryweka (pictured) and Jon Ol Rocco successful over 1200m and 1600m respectively and giving performances that would indicate both 3YO's will get to a much better rating in time.
Bred by Janine, Les Wallace and Jim Wallace and raced by the Galloping Wekas syndicate, Maryweka took her record to 2 wins and 3 seconds from 7 starts as she raced away over the concluding stages to win by 3 lengths and break 1.09.
4th on debut back on 24 February, the Jamieson Park bred Jon Ol Rocco (Time Test – Famous Attraction by Doomsday), a $40,000 Karaka purchase by Paul Willets, relished the better track conditions, finishing powerfully through the centre of the field to win well.
The Riccarton double gave Time Test 5 winners in 5 days and 12 winners over the last 3 weeks.
All eyes were on Canberra on Sunday where the Wentwood Grange bred Time Test colt The Years (Time Test-Joy Anna by Iffraaj) ran in the G3 Black Opal Stakes. An impressive winner of his only start, The Years, who was $100,000 Karaka purchase by Chris Rutten, Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, ran a terrific 2nd.
