LA Finishes Book 1 in Style

LA has finished Book 1 of the NZB National Yearling Sales strongly with its final two lots of the third day grossing nearly $800k.

After registering 200 inspections, the most ever for an LA yearling at Karaka, interest in the Savabeel – Alam Mo Na colt was expected to be intense in the ring which was exactly as it played out. After a spirited bidding duel involving several industry heavyweights, ex pat Sydney trainer Bjorn Baker placed the final bid of $525,000. LA’s colt was the second highest price Savabeel colt sold in Book 1.

Client Ben Kwok sold a Per Incanto filly from the farm’s draft on day two for $260,000, and his second Per Incanto filly fetched the same price on the final day, with Queensland’s KPW Bloodstock purchasing the filly from the Written Tycoon mare Amal Rose.

Per Incanto sold 29 Book 1 yearlings for an average of $170k, an outstanding return on his 2021 service fee of $25,000.

Book 2 gets underway at 10am on Wednesday. LA’s Book 2 draft numbers 11 lots including four Time Test yearlings.
