Sky Idea (Fastnet Rock-San Century by Centaine), who took out a Rating 65 1400m event at Te Rapa on Saturday, comes from one of the best families in the NZ Studbook, that of the Te Parae bred Group 1 winner and exceptional broodmare Sanderae.
The branch of the family that produced Sky Idea was also responsible for Nadeem’s (Redoute’s Choice – Candide by Sound Reason) latest Australian winner, the 4YO mare Volcanic Sky (Nadeem-Fleur De L’Orient by Thunder Gulch) who recorded her fourth win at just career start number 10 when successful over 1200m on Saturday.
Both Sky Idea and Volcanic Sky descend from Sanderae through her Sound Reason daughter Sellou. Interestingly that makes Volcanic Sky bred on a 3x4 Sound Reason cross.
