In this weeks’ Time Test Thursday, we highlight a mare who put together an outstanding record as a 3YO.
Bred by Jim, Janine and Les Wallace, Maryweka won on three occasions and placed second three times from eight starts in her 3YO season.
Throughout the season the filly consistently showed a never say die attitude, lifting markedly when challenged over the closing stages of her races.
With her competitive persona and speed, one of her Riccarton wins was in 1.08 for 1200m on a wet track, look for the Terri Rae trained 4YO to figure throughout the Christchurch Cup Carnival for her fabulous bunch of owners, the Galloping Wekas Maryweka syndicate.
