Time Test Thursday this week features the unbeaten Sydney trained 3YO Pushy.
Golden Slipper winning trainer Michael Freedman doesn’t do hyperbole, so when he talks so encouragingly about his charge Pushy (Time Test – Angel Child by Anabaa), it pays to listen.
A debut winner at Kembla Grange a fortnight ago, the Stephanie Hole bred gelding was even more impressive when retaining his unbeaten record at Newcastle last Saturday over 1400m. The recipient of a decent bump when angling for a run on the point of the home turn, the gelding gathered himself and reeled in the leader, an older horse with three wins to his credit, to win going away on the line.
The Time Test gelding is earmarked to run next in the 1400m Group 3 Ming Dynasty Quality, against his own age, in just over a fortnight.
Pushy was a $60,000 2022 Karaka Book 1 buy from the Wentwood Grange draft by Mick Wallace for a large ownership group that includes his older brother David, a Wairarapa based breeder and owner.
With the likes of The Year’s, Braveman’sgame, Elsie May, Time Quest, Running On Time and Pushy, is it any wonder that Australian trainers are currently scouring the jump outs and trials to find themselves more of the hottest sire ticket in town.
