Agent Sticks to Tried and True

The Per Incanto filly from Cyd Charisse was LA’s highlight amongst an offering of three on the final day of Book 2 on Friday.

Having signed for Madam Hass and Hasstobegood, Robert Dawe knows more than a thing or two about buying good Per Incanto fillies at Karaka and the Auckland based agent played the waiting game this year, purchasing the Cyd Charisse filly for $80k.

The striking chestnut filly was sold in partnership with Cambridge’s Richard Tong.

Per Incanto sold 14 yearlings in Book 2, averaging $47k and finishing behind only Darci Brahma (4 sold) and Iffraaj (8 sold) amongst the non-first season sires. Across Books 1 and 2, 23 Per Incanto yearlings sold at an average of $80k.

LA’s sale focus now shifts to the Inglis Sydney Classic Sale where the farm has three yearlings selling under the Sledmere banner.

A real sense of stockmanship and a love of the animal. When our mares arrive back from LA, they look like they’ve had a month at Club Med, with some of the trimmings of the buffet, but also the glow of having had the attention of a personal trainer
