New Stakes Performer for Time Test

On the back of a very successful NZB Book 2 Sale, Time Test has a new stakes performer with the Te Akau trained Sense of Timing (Time Test- Pin Up Lae by Pins) running a close third in the 1500m Listed Dunedin City Motors Dunedin Guineas at Wingatui on Saturday.

Sense of Timing, who is Time Test’s 7th Australasian stakes performer, was a $100k purchase from LA’s 2022 NZB Karaka Book 2 draft.

LA’s focus shifted from the deep south to across the Tasman later in the afternoon where Jimmysstar (Per Incanto-Anniesstar by Zed) put his unbeaten Australian record on the line at Caulfield. The Ciaron Maher trained four-year-old never gave the punters who had backed him into $1.50 any cause for concern as he cruised home, securing an invitation post-race to the All Star Mile where, if connections accept, he is likely to clash with another LA reared product Desert Lightning.

Jimmysstar was bred by Wairarapa couple Chrissy and Pete Algie in partnership with LA. Both parties remain in the ownership of the exciting galloper.

Anniesstar, the dam of Jimmysstar, has a yearling full brother to Jimmysstar who was withdrawn from last week’s NZB Karaka Sale and will now be presented at the Sydney Easter Sale.

First and foremost, stockman and people whose interest in the animal translates into an innate ability to read how a horse will develop. I’ll see a foal at LA and Sam or Buzz will tell me how they expect it to develop. I’ll see it during my Karaka inspections 12 months later, and you could blow me over with a feather
