Stable Produce Another Time Test Derby Candidate

Leading Hastings stable Game Lodge look to have unearthed another potential NZ Derby runner by Time Test after Anaroa (Time Test-Sentosa Park by Thorn Park) cruised to victory in the 2050m Pope and Gray Contractors maiden at Tauherenikau on Waitangi Day.

After producing impressive late sectionals when third to the subsequent stakes placed High Country at his most recent start, over 1600m at Hastings, the Time Test 3YO clearly appreciated the step up in distance at Tauherenikau, racing away to win by four lengths.

The Time Test gelding is raced by his breeder GJ Wedd.

Game Lodge also have the promising Testwin (Time Test- Edwina by Don Eduardo) on a Derby path. A winner of his only start, over 1600m, the Tom Lowry bred and raced gelding is expected to continue his Derby preparation with another run over 1600m at Wanganui this Friday.

Only Almanzor, amongst NZ stallions, has sired more three-year-old winners than Time Test in NZ this season. Time Test sired the top priced yearling in Book 2 of the NZB National Yearling Sale last week, and in addition to the $220k colt the son of Dubawi had another colt sell for $120k.

Buzz’s crazy ads, but on a slightly more serious note, how the family have continued to produce sound, genuine and class performers is testimony to the family and their staffs dedication and horsemanship.
