In-form Per Incanto 5YO Lanciato (Per Incanto-Surreptitious by O’Reilly) has deservedly made the field for this Saturday’s 3 million Group 1 Doncaster Handicap at Randwick. Befitting the race’s reputation as one of the premier mile races in the world, the 16 strong field features many of the best milers in Australia and a host of up and comers including star 3YO Kementari.
With impressive black-type wins at his last two starts, his first in stakes company, Lanciato fits the latter category and whilst it’s clearly a significant step-up for the LA and Lib Petagna bred 5YO, with his potent turn of foot and a dry track forecast, don’t be surprised if the Mark Newnham trained galloper runs out of his skin on Saturday.
