Proven Judges a Day 2 Feature

Day 2 of the NZB National Yearling Sales at Karaka saw heightened domestic interest but LA’s highlight was the continued demand for its yearlings from some of the biggest names in the industry.

Following Shadwell’s day 1 purchase of the I Am Invincible filly, fellow international breeding and racing powerhouse Godolphin secured the farms Exosphere-Kekova colt early on day 2.

Honours for LA’s top price for day 2 went to the Tavistock three-quarter brother to Hong Kong superstar Werther. Offered on behalf of Wellington client John Anderson, the loose walking colt was bought by Trent Busuttin for $230,000.
Demand for LA’s fillies continued with the farms only female offering on day 2, the Makfi-Pin Up Lae filly, knocked down to locally based agent Bruce Perry for Trelawney Stud for $170,000.
History, tradition, family, good values and lots of fun. Also when we inspect an LA yearling we do so with confidence in the horses’ upbringing, soundness and temperament. It’s a theory that has worked well because with Dominic we’ve bought the likes of Redeem The Dream and the stakeswinner Sir Lovesalot
